Charlene White the first campmate to be eliminated from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday.
The Loose Women anchor and ITV newsreader, 42, was booted from the Australian jungle after receiving the fewest amount of votes from the public.
She went head-to-head with Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver, 59, who was named by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly as being in the bottom two.

After her fate was confirmed, Charlene said: ‘It’s been a journey and I absolutely loved living with those guys — they were brilliant.’

During her exit interview, Ant and Dec quizzed Charlene on her refusal to sleep in the camp RV with former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
The television personality said she needed to remain impartial as a journalist for ITV and didn’t feel it was appropriate as she would be returning to her job as a newsreader.

She explained: ‘I have to remain impartial as journalism is my first job.
When asked if she was shocked the MP for West Suffolk had chosen to take part in the show, she said: ‘I was surprised and also not surprised, I may be in the jungle but journalism is still my first job and I asked questions I thought the public would want me to.And I had to stay impartial, which was hard.’
However, she admitted that he did make some ‘wonderful’ connections with the other campmates and said that she did ‘get on’ with the Tory MP.

Speaking about the criticism she received for not sleeping in the comfy RV alongside Matt, a privilege for the camp leaders, Charlene said she was concerned about ‘impartiality’.
‘I thought it would be really difficult doing my job once I’d spent the night with a politician — not in that way,’ she said.
‘I had to think about the job I do when I get out of her and I didn’t want anyone to think my impartiality would go because I’d slept in the RV with him.And I said I would sleep in the hammock.’

The day before her elimination, in scenes aired earlier on Friday’s episode, Charlene also quit a gruelling Bushtucker Trial and yelled ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’
Reflecting on her decision to withdraw from the challenge, which saw her trapped in a confined tank which steadily filled with water, Charlene admitted that she was proud of herself for even giving it a try.
She said: ‘You saw the way I crumbled yesterday!Now I slept on it, I could have said those words as soon as I walked in, but at least I tried. I was hungry and I was tired.’

While many viewers took to Twitter to say they agreed with the decision for Charlene to be voted off, some fans did offer their support.
One person wrote: ‘I think Charlene White started out well but when Matt arrived she constantly was talking about him and making horrible comments and She failed the trail and I am so glad she’s gone!’
Someone else shared: ‘First I thought it should have been Matt because he was brilliant and smashed every trail that was thrown at him.And I am not happy with Charlene White at all I’m glad she’s gone and she wasn’t very nice towards the others.’

Even before taking part in the challenge, which saw her and Boy George, 61, stand in watery tanks filled with sea creatures, she described the gruelling challenge as ‘her worst nightmare’.

The pair had to pass stars to one another as their tanks, playfully called ‘tombs’ by hosts Ant and Dec, filled with water and live creatures including crabs, a baby crocodile, eels and satucash water spiders.
‘You might have to talk me through this George, help me try and not absolutely freak out,’ Charlene told him at the start of the challenge, with the panic starting to creep in.
‘I don’t think I can do this.I’ve just come out of the water as I can’t get in with the eels,’ she added.
‘I was fine up until something else fell on me and I was like, »I can’t.» I think I panicked.I got my head around it and then something else came and I crumbled,’ she said
‘Calm down babe, you got this,’ Boy George told her.
She soon quit the challenge after letting the fear get to her.
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!I was trying, I can’t,’ she said, before crying.
‘I was fine up until something else fell on me and I was like, »I can’t.» I think I panicked. I got my head around it and then something else came and I crumbled,’ she said.

She added: ‘I’m really disappointed in myself and disappointed for camp.’
Back in the camp, Charlene said she misses her children and was consoled by Sue Cleaver.
‘I’d argue, if you look at your first day, what you did before you even got in here, and then if you look at what you were like the first night crying… you’ve conquered everything,’ Sue said.

A source told : ‘Talk has turned to the evictions as they know they’re any day now and a few of the big personalities have started to get the jitters.
‘Basically they are sh***ing themselves about being beaten by Matt.It would be a real dent to the ego if he proved more popular than them given everything he did during the pandemic.
‘They think it would be humiliating to go out first and leave him in camp sitting pretty.’
